Corona Generators

We support the Reich Associates, Inc., Model 10091 and Model 10129 Corona Generators previously manufactured for Corona Designs, Inc. We stock printed circuit boards, transistors, capacitors, etc. Phone Technical support is available. We manufacture corona generators utilized in converting and plasma etching of plastics and other materials. Units utilize state of the art third generation insulated gate bipolar transistors with a variety of protection circuits to meet customer needs. In addition, We manufacture corona generators utilized in converting and plasma etching of plastics and other materials. Units range from 10 watts to 10 kilowatts of output power. Input voltage ranges of 120 volts AC to 440 volts AC, and frequency from 50 to 60 hertz are available. Standard units manufactured in 1 kW, 5 kW, and 10 kW outputs.Outputs are available up to 20 kilovolts AC and at frequencies up to 30 kilohertz. The normal frequency range is 5 to 10 kHz. High frequency units are available in the range of 10 to 20 kHz, and special units are available in the range of 10 Hz to 30 kHz.


Typical Generator

The typical generator consists of a control unit and an oil filled high voltage transformer that is mounted on the treater or near the electrode. The controls can be located up to 100 feet from the generator by adding a remote cable. All connections to the control panel utilize a maximum of 24 Volts (Model 10129). The 5 kW and 10 kW units require 240 or 480 VAC (Line to Line), 3 Phase, 50-60 Hz Power. Special units can accommodate other input voltages and frequency.

Reich Associates, Inc., corona generators have been utilized to treat difficult low density foams up to 1/4 inch thick, with epoxy coated electrodes, ceramic coated rolls, Hypalon ™ covered rolls, silicone covered rolls, bare metal rolls (Coated Electrode), and glass coated rolls.

All units include as standard equipment door interlocks and provision for external interlocks. Units above 1 kW include a locking safety switch to prevent opening the cabinet door with AC Input power applied. Special cooling systems are available for extremely dirty and/or dusty operating conditions.
